Dear Carol Holt Parents,
We would like to remind everyone that student attendance and being at school on time is extremely important for each of our wonderful students. We, at Carol Holt, urge you in the strongest possible terms to make sure your child is attending school as much as possible and that they are here between 7:45-8:00 AM each day. If you child is not in their seats by 8:00 a.m. your child will be consider tardy.
It is our goal at Carol Holt Elementary that every student will read on grade level or higher by the beginning of 3rd grade. Research shows that there is a direct connection between the development of literacy skills at an early age and an individual’s earnings over the course of their life.
Research also shows that missing 10% of the school year, which is about 18 days, negatively affects student academic performance. That’s only two days per month! Being on time and ready to learn is a big part of this process. Their future is dependent on the education that they are receiving today.
